quested to draw the early attention of their respective
Houses to the above subject, and to endeavour to obtain
such an appropriation as will effectuate the object re-
commended by the said engineer in his said report.
Resolved, that the Governor be, and he is hereby re-
quested to forward to each of the Senators and Repre-
sentatives of this State, in the Congress of the United
States, a copy of the above preamble and resolutions.

Resolution directing the Librarian to furnish the Re-
gister of Wills and Clerk of Frederick County, with
the Indexes to the laws of Maryland, from eigh-
teen hundred and eighteen, to the present time.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian be directed to furnish the Register of
Wills, and Clerk of Frederick county, with indexes to
the laws of Maryland, from eighteen hundred and
eighteen, to the present time.

Resolution in favor of Alice Markland, widow of Ed-
ward Markland, a revolutionary officer.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore, be, and he is here-
by authorised and required to pay to Alice Markland,
widow of Edward Markland, or to her order, during
her life, an annual pension, payable quarterly, from
and after the first day of April last, equal to that
which her late husband received from this State, under
a resolution passed at December session eighteen hun-
dred and twenty-three, the half pay of a Lieutenant in
the Naval service, during the revolutionary war.
