An act to provide for the payment of the Journal of Ac-
counts.

1839.

WHEREAS, it appears by the Journal of Accounts of
this session, that there is due from this State, the sum
of sixty-five thousand, seven hundred and fourteen
dollars and ninety-eight cents: — Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted, by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the Treasurer of the Western Shore be, and he
is hereby authorised and required to pay to the several
persons, their executors, administrators, assigns or
orders, or to such of them as shall offer to receive the
same, the several sums or money allowed to them re-
spectively, as they appear to be settled and ascertained
by the said journal of accounts, out of any money now
in the treasury, subject to appropriation by the Gene-
ral Assembly.

CHAPTER 416.

Payment directed.

An act to ensure the completion of the Susquehanna Canal,
and of the Tide Water Canal.

Passed April 6,
1839.

SECTION I. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That so soon as the Susquehanna Canal,
Company, in a genera] meeting of its stockholders,
and the Tide Water Canal Company, in a general
meeting of its stockholders, shall have assented and
agreed to the provisions of this act, and shall severally
have communicated to the Treasurer of the Western
Shore, their acceptance of its terms under the respec-
tive corporate seals, and the signatures of the respec-
