CHAP. 353.

eighteen hundred and thirty-three to the year eighteen
hundred and thirty-eight inclusive, he, and the same
are hereby made as valid in law, to all intents and
purposes, as if a certificate, or certificates of his (the
said Stephen's) qualification as justice of the peace as
aforesaid, had been regularly and duly filed with the
clerk of the county aforesaid, and all the forms and
solemnities had been observed in regard to his qualifi-
cation as justice of the peace in and for the county
aforesaid, that have been, or are now prescribed by
any law in such case made and provided.

CHAPTER 355.

Passed April 2,
1839.

An act to confirm and make valid certain acts of Levin
Hitch, as Justice of the Peace, in and for Worcester
County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, Levin Hitch, of Worcester county, was
duly appointed, by the governor and council, a justice
of the peace, in and for the county aforesaid, for the
year eighteen hundred and thirty-eight; and whereas,
some time in the summer of the said year, the said
Hitch, as justice of the peace, as aforesaid, took the
acknowledgment of one or more deeds of bargain and
sale, as also rendered one judgment, when it was dis-
covered that it was doubtful whether or not he, the
said Hitch, had qualified according to law; and whereas,
no little detriment might unjustly ensue to such parties
as are interested, if the said acts of the said Hitch
were not confirmed and made valid as aforesaid: —
Therefore,

Acs confirmed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That so much of the acts of Levin Hitch, as justice of
the peace in and for Worcester county, for the year
eighteen hundred and thirty eight, as may be defective
on account of any informalities, cither real or supposed,
in the mode in which he, the said Hitch, was qualified
as justice of the peace, as aforesaid, be, and the same
are hereby made as valid in law, to all intents and pur-
poses, as if he, the said Hitch, had been duly qualified
according to all the requisitions and solemnities pre-
scribed by law in such cases made and provided.
