CHAPTER 279.

An act supplementary to an act, entitled, an act to di-
vorce Julia Ann Stevens, from her husband Charles
R. Stevens, passed December session eighteen hundred
and thirty-seven, chapter+three hundred and twenty-
nine.

1839.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Julia Ann Stevens, of Talbot county, be, and site
is hereby divorced, a vinculo matrimonii, and entrust-
ed with the guardianship of her children, born during
her marriage with her husband, Charles R. Stevens.

CHAPTER 280.

Divorce.

A supplement to an act, entitled, an act for the further
distribution of the donation to the Colleges and Aca-
demies in the several counties in this State, so far as
the same relates to Caroline County, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter
two hundred and forty-four.

1839.

WHEREAS, it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, that the convenience of the people requires the
location of a school at Townsend's Cross Roads, in
Caroline county, the better to effectuate the spirit of
the act to which this is a supplement, and to further
the cause of education: — Therefore,

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That there shall be a school at Townsend's Cross
Roads, in Caroline county, and that said school shall
be known as one of the located schools of said county,
and entitled to all the benefits and privileges conferred
by the act to which this is a supplement, in like man-
ner, and to the same extent as the schools heretofore
located in the middle district of said county by com-
missioners appointed under the act passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two
hundred and forty-four, and that said school shall be
governed, regulated and directed by the provisions of
said act, so far as the same are not inconsistent with
the provisions herein contained.
