provide a good and sufficient passage to and from
said county bridge, the sum of five hundred dollars,
and at their next annual levy thereafter, the further
sum of five hundred, and pay the same over when col-
lected to the bridge commissioners, and the said bridge
commissioners shall give bond with approved security
to the said commissioners of Cecil county, for the re-
spective sums of money placed in their hands, and for
the faithful expenditure thereof, in the building of said
bridge.

CHAPTER 257.

Passed Mar. 26,
1839.

An act for the benefit of Matthias Furney, of Cecil
County.

Levy $30 annually.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Cecil county, be, and they
are hereby authorized and required to levy on the as-
sessable property of said county, at their next levy, and
annually thereafter, the sum of thirty dollars, for the
use of Matthias Furney, and pay the same to him, or
his order.

CHAPTER 253.

1839.

An act to authorize Pere, Wilmer, former Collector of
Tuxes, in Queen Anne's County, to complete his col-
lection.

Authority to collect.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Pere Wilmer, former collector of
taxes in Queen Anne's County, be, and he is hereby
authorised and empowered, to collect any taxes or bal-
ances of taxes, now remaining due to, and uncollected

and with the same privileges and powers, as are al-
lowed by the existing laws in such cases made and

provided.

Accounts to be on

oath.

Sec. 2. And. be it enacted, That the aforesaid Pere
Wilmer, shall in every instance before he proceed to
the collection, make affidavit, or affirm before some
