above mentioned accounts, provided they do not exceed
the sum of six hundred dollars, including a reasonable
compensation to the aforesaid bridge commissioners,

An act to authorise the Commissioners of Cecil county,
to levy a sum of money to be appropriated, to the erec-
tion of a Bridge over Back Creek, at or near Bohemia
Village.

1838.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Kendal S. Croper, Tobias F. Biddle,
and Joseph Bryan, be, and they are hereby appointed
commissioners, for the purpose of locating and build-
ing a bridge over said creek, and the said commission-
ers, or a majority of them, are by this act, empowered

and authorised to agree and contract with any person,
or persons, upon the most economical terms, to con-
struct said bridge.

To contract, &c.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said commis-
sioners shall keep an accurate account of the money ex-
pended in erecting said bridge, and in case there should
be any money left unexpended, after the building of
said bridge, the same shall be returned to the commis-
sioners of Cecil county, to be applied for the benefit
of the county.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That a majority of said
commissioners, shall be competent to transact any bu-
