An act to divorce Dorcas A. Roach, from her husband

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Dorcas A. Roach, be, and she is hereby declared
to be divorced from her husband John J. Roach, a vin-
culo matrimonii.

An act to provide for the public instruction of youth
in Allegany County.
|

1839.

|
WHEREAS, the validity of an act, passed at Decem-
ber session, eighteen hundred and thirty six, chapter
one hundred and six, entitled "An act to promote edu-
cation in Allegany county, by means of the poor school
fund of said county; " depended on the decision of the
county commissioners, to be declared at the ensuing
August meeting of said commissioners; and whereas,
the said commissioners did at the specified August
meeting, decide against said law, rendering all subse-
quent proceedings therein illegal and of consequence,
null and void, — Therefore,

Preamble.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be the duty of the commis-
sioners of Allegany county, at their first regular meet-
ing after the: approval of this act, and annually there-
after, to appoint five discreet persons in each school
|

school houses in their respective school districts, by
individual subscription, or otherwise; and when pro-
vided with a suitable school, house, to certify that fact
to the commissioners aforesaid, at. their ensuing regu-

the school fund of said county, to the several, school
districts, in fair and Just proportions; and it shall be
