Repeal.

An act to repeal an act entitled an act to appoint an offi-
cer of the State of Maryland, to be called the Stewart
to the Governor, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-nine, chapter one hundred and
fifty-three.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the act
entitled an act to appoint an officer of the State of
Maryland, to be called the Stewart to the Governor,
passed at December session, eighteen hundred and
twenty-nine, chapter one hundred and fifty three, be
and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 21.

Preamble.

An act to make valid a certain deed, and to correct a
mistake in certain chancery proceedings in a case
therein mentioned.

WHEREAS, it has been represented to this General
Assembly, by the petition of the Reverend Tobias Riley,
of Frederick county, that by a decree of the court of
chancery, bearing date on or about the first day of July
eighteen hundred and thirty four, a lot of ground, in
the town of Frostburg in Allegany county, described
as lot number twenty-eight in said town, in a mortgage
from John McNeill, junior, of said county, to Battee
and Hurst of the city of Baltimore, was directed to be
sold for the purpose therein mentioned, and Bene S.
Pigman was appointed trustee for making said sale;
that the said lot was sold in pursuance of the said de-
cree to Francis A. McNeill, who was reported by the
said trustee the purchaser thereof, and that after the
said report, the said Tobias Riley purchased the said
lot from the said Francis A. McNeill, and was by an
order of the chancellor substituted in the place of the
said McNeill as the purchaser of the same, that the
said trustee in pursuance of said order, executed a
deed of bargain and sale to the said Riley, for the said
mortgaged premises, which said deed was duly ac-
