CHAP. 171.

they are hereby authorized at their next annual meet-
ings, if in their judgment, the interests of said county
will be promoted thereby, to levy on the assessable
property of said county, a sum not exceeding three
hundred dollars, to be applied to the purchasing and
cultivation of the mulberry tree, and the raising of
silk, as hereinafter provided.

Application.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That in case said levy is
made, the sum so levied shall be placed under the direc-
tion of the trustees of the poor Kent county, who
shall apply it to the purchase and cultivation of the
mulberry tree, and raising of silk at the Alms House,
in such manner as in their judgment may be deemed
most suitable and advantageous to the interests of said
county.

CHAPTER 171.

Passed Mar. 13,
1839.

An act for the relief of James R. Bounds, and Sarah
Ann his wife, of the city of Baltimore.

Deed annulled.

SECTION 1. Belt enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the deed of trust heretofore executed,
acknowledged and delivered by a certain William Cal-
lender, of the city of Baltimore, to Samuel Long of
that city, bearing date the first day of August in the
year of our Lord eighteen hundred and thirty-seven,
for the uses and. trusts therein particularly set forth
and mentioned, duly recorded according to law among
the land records of Baltimore county court, in liber
T. K. No. 272, folio 358, will appear, be, and the
same is hereby declared to be null and void, and, none
effect.

New deed to be ex-
ecuted.

Sec. 2. And be it further enacted, That the said
William Callender is hereby duly empowered and di-
rected by this act, to make, execute, acknowledge and
deliver unto the said Samuel Long, the trustee afore-
said, and to his executors, administrators, and assigns
a new deed of trust, conveying and assigning the same
property, together with the appurtenances, which is
contained, described and conveyed in the deed of trust

and separate use and benefit of the said Sarah Ann
