CHAPTER 125.

CHAP. 126.

An act authorizing and empowering the Commission-
ers, of diaries Town, in Cecil County, to sell and con-
vey a tract of land therein mentioned, and for other
purposes.

Passed Feb. 8,
1839.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act,
the commissioners of Charles Town, in Cecil county,
be and they hereby are authorized and empowered to
adjoining the town aforesaid, called the town com-
mons, agreeably to the requirements of this act.

Authority to sell

and convey.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said land shall
be sold in lots of not less than one acre, nor more than
ten acres, according to the discretion of said commis-
sioners, and that said lots be sold at public sale; ten
days notice having been previously given of such sale
or sales.

Restrictions.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That all monies accruing
from the sale of the lots aforesaid shall be appropria-
ted, by the said commissioners, in such manner as to
them may seem most proper, in improvements for the
town aforesaid.

Application of pro-

ceeds.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That any act, or acts, in-
consistent with this act, relating to the land aforesaid,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 126.

Repealing clause.

An act authorising the Commissioners of Charles Town,
in Cecil County, to sell and convey a piece or parcel of
land, therein mentioned, belonging to the said town,
to the Philadelphia, Wilmington and Baltimore Rail
Road Company

Passed Jan. 28,
1839.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of Charles Town, in Cecil
county, or a majority of them, he, and they are here-
by authorized and empowered, to grant, sell and con-
vey, and assure unto the Philadelphia, Wilmington and
Baltimore Rail Road Company, its successors and as-
