Preamble.

CHAPTER 13.

An act in behalf of Thomas Lucy, Sen., and Thomas
Lucy, Jr.

WHEREAS it is represented to this General Assem-
bly, on behalf of Thomas Lucy, Sr., and Thomas Lu-
cy, Jr., that they are and have been, residents of the
State of Maryland, for some time; and whereas, the
said Thomas Lucy, Sr., and Thomas Lucy, Jr., have
become the holders of Real Property in the State, but
cannot exercise a legal control or disposition of the
same, because they are not naturalized citizens of the
State, — Therefore,

Authorised to hold

real estate.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Thomas Lucy, Sen., and Thomas Lucy, Jr. he
and they are hereby authorized and empowered to take,
bold, and dispose of the real property they may now '
have an equitable or other claim to, within the limits
of the State of Maryland, in the same manner, as if
the said Thomas Lucy, Sen. and Thomas Lucy, Jr.,
had been and were, naturalized citizens of the United
States, at the time when their claim to such property
originated.

CHAPTER 14.

Authority to collect.

An act to allow Joseph Graham, former Sheriff of Tal-
bot County, further time to complete his collections.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That Joseph Graham, former Sheriff of Talbot Coun-
ty and his Deputies, or any Agent by him appointed,
be and they are hereby authorized and empowered, to
collect and receive, all and every balance or amount,
of officers' fees, fines and forfeitures, and all other
sums that may be due and owing, to the said Graham,
as Sheriff, as aforesaid, or to his Deputies, in the
same manner and to the same extent, as if the term of
office of the. said Graham, as Sheriff, as aforesaid, had

not expired; Provided, That if any person against
whom there is a claim by said Graham, as Sheriff, as
aforesaid, or either of his Deputies, shall make affida-
