CHAPTER 113.

An act to allow John Newcomer, late Sheriff and Collec-
lector of Washington county, further time to complete
his collections.

Time allowed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all the provisions of the act entitled, an act to allow
John Newcomer, late sheriff and collector of Washington
county, further time to complete his collections, passed at
December session eighteen hundred and forty-two, chap-
ter ninety, be, and the same are hereby further extended,
until the last day of December, eighteen hundred and forty
fire.

 

CHAPTER. 114.

An act to make valid a certain Deed of Conveyance there-
in mentioned.

Preamble.

Whereas it is represented to this general assembly, that
a certain Edward A. Scott and Indiana S. Scott, his wife, of
Cecil county, heretofore on the twenty-sixth day of October
eighteen hundred and thirty-five, by their deed of convey-
ance, conveyed to a certain Washington Comegys, of Kent
county, a certain tract or parcel of land situate in Kent
county, and known as the Hurtt farm; and whereas the
said deed was executed and acknowledged before James
Purnell and John A. Rankin, two of the justices of the
peace of the State of Maryland, in and for Cecil county;
and whereas it was neglected to have the qualifications of
the said two justices certified to by the clerk of Cecil

Made valid

county court, previous to the said deed being recorded
amongst the land records of Kent county, and to cure the
said defect—Therefore,
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the said deed be, and the same is hereby declared
valid and effectual in the same manner as if the qualifica-
tions of the person before whom the said deed was acknow-
ledged had been regularly certified to by the clerk of Cecil
county court at the time of the execution thereof, and pre-
viously to its being recorded amongst the land records of
Kent county aforesaid.
