and officers fees due to him as such sheriff of said county,
he shall be governed by the provisions of the second sec-
tion of the said act, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and forty-one, chapter twelve.

An act to separate the school fund of Howard District, from
that of Anne Arundel County.

4, 1344.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall be the
duty of the Treasurer of the Western Shore, to open a
distinct account with the commissioners of tax of Howard
District of Anne Arundel county, separating the school
fund to which said district is entitled, from that of Anne
Arundel county proper.

An act to incorporate the German Union Beneficial Society
of Cumberland.

5, 1844.

Whereas, Albert Holer, John Harshberger, Francis
M. Gramlick, Louis Renby, William Knost, John Flurs-
chutz, George Liepfriet, Frederick Endbrick, John Saw-
ermann, Henry Coleman, John Brouer, Henry Fogtmen,
Joseph Cramer and Henry Myer, by their petition to this
general assembly represent, that they and others of the
county of Allegany, have formed themselves into an asso-
ciation by the name of the German Union Beneficial Society
of Cumberland, for the purpose of providing a fund, by
small periodical contributions, in time of health for the
support of such members of the association, during sick-
ness, as may hereafter be in need of assistance, and for the
funeral expenses of deceased members, and to make provi-
sion for the widows and orphans of such as may require it,
and with a view, the better to carry out the benevolent
object of the association, have prayed to be incorporated: —
