erection of another Warehouse, in the city of Baltimore,
for the inspection of tobacco. Therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Trensurer be and is hereby authorised,
empowered and directed to contract on the most favorable
terms, for the erection of a fire proof Tobacco Warehouse,
on the vacant lot above Warehouse number two, of size

and dimensions corresponding with the area of said lot.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer be and
he is hereby authorised and required to negotiate a loan of
thirty thousand dollars on the credit of the State, by dis-
posing of in such manner and at such time as he may deem
necessary, stock of the State, bearing an interest of six per
cent per annum, the principal and interest payable out of
the tobacco inspection fund, the principal at the pleasure of
the State, and the interest semi-annually.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That whatever premium the
Treasurer may receive for the stock sold under the provi-
sions of this act, shall be placed by him to the credit of the
tobacco inspection fund.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the Treasurer out of the
sum to be provided as prescribed in the -second section of
this act, be and he is hereby authorised to pay and advance
to the contractors such sum or sums of money and at such
time and times as may appear to him requisite and necessary

Sec. 5. And be it enacted, That when the Warehouse
shall have been completed, the Governor be and is hereby
authorised and required to appoint an inspector for the
same, whose duties in all respects shall be the same as
those required of the inspectors of the other State Tobacco

An act to authorize the Guardian of Daniel Murray, of
Anne Arundel county, a minor, to improve his real estate,
under the direction of the Orphan's Court of Anne Arun-
del county.

Whereas, it is represented to the general assembly,
that Daniel Murray, a minor of trader years, in the divi-
sion made under the authority of the High Court of
Chancery of a large real estate lying in Anne Arundel
county, has become possessed of a considerable landed
