Sec. 9. And he it enacted, That the compensation of the
Said assessors and collectors, shall be fixed and paid in the
manner pointed out in the Fifteenth section of the original
act and the fifth and sixth sections of said declaratory act.
Sec. 10. And be it enacted, That whenever any person
who may have been assessed under the provisions of the.
acts to which this is a supplement, shall make oath that his
actual income has not exceeded the sum of three hundred
dollars, the levy courts or commissioners of the several
counties, and of Howard District, and the appeal tax court
of the city of Baltimore, shall be authorised to exempt
said person from the payment of the amount of tax with
which he is chargeabje.

An act to repeal the act of December session, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-two, chapter one hundred and twenty-three,
so jar as the same relates to Somerset County.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Mary-
land, That from and after the passage of this act, the
act entitled an act to regulate the manner of public adver-
tisements in Somerset and Charles counties, passed at
December session, eighteen hundred and forty-two, chap-
ter one hundred and twenty-three, be and the same is hereby

Repealed.

repealed, so far as the same relates to Somerset county, and
all laws repealed by said act, be and the same are hereby re-
enacted and declared to be in full force. Provided, that no
printer or proprietor of newspaper in Somerset county, shall
be authorised to charge, have or recover for printing and pub-
lishing in any newspaper, the notices of executors, adminis-
trators, trustee's, sheriff's, coroners or constables, more
than one dollar for the first three insertions, of one square,
and twenty-five cents for every subsequent insertion beyond
three times; and provided further, that a square within the
meaning of the act, shall be sixteen lines or less, and all
over sixteen lines and less than thirty-three lines, shall be
taken and considered to be two squares and so on in that
proportion.
