CHAPTER 242.

4, 1844.

An act for the benefit of the heirs of Levin L. Waters.

Preamble.

Whereas, it is represented to this general assembly,
that the infant children of Levin L. Waters, late of So-
merset county, deceased, are seized and possessed of a
plantation in the immediate vicinity of Princess Anne in
Somerset county, and that the dwelling house and other
improvements are very much out of repair, and the said
infant children have no personal estate to apply to that

object—Therefore,
Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Eliza R. W. Waters, widow of said Le-
vin L. Waters, and mother of, and actual guardian of the
said infant children, be and she is hereby authorized and
empowered, to sell and convey to any purchaser or pur-
chasers a lot or lots of ground, being a parcel of the said
real estate, not exceeding fifty acres in the whole, upon
such terms as the said Eliza in her judgment and discre-
tion may believe to be to the interest and advantage of
her said infant children.

To account

money.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Eliza, shall
account to the said infant children for the purchase money
so to be received, and her guardian bond shall be liable
for the faithful application of the said purchase money to
the repair of the dwelling and other improvements, on
said real estate, or in case of her failure so to apply the
purchase money, for the faithful payment over of the said
monies to the said infant children, in like manner as all
other monies in her hands as guardian.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the Orphan's court,
may, and they are hereby authorized, to allow to the said
Eliza, such proportion of the said purchase money in lieu
of her dower, as in their judgment and discretion she may
be fairly entitled to, taking her age and health into consi-
deration.

An act to change the name of William V. Wroten oj Dor*
Chester county to William Vance Wilson,

Name chan-
ged.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the name of William Vance VV'roten, of Dorchester
county, is hereby changed to that of William Vance
Wilson.
