CHAP. 204.

Provisoes

of the county aforesaid, that he, she or they, believes the
same to be unjust, or that the same had been paid at any
previous time to the person claiming the same, it shall for-
ever bar such claim, and provided, that nothing in this act
shall be construed to affect in any way, the estate of any
deceased person; and provided also, that this act shall only
continue in force for one year from its passage.

An act to regulate the repairs of public roads in Prince
George's County.

Levy court to
contract.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the justices of the levy court of Prince
George's county, be and are hereby authorised and required,
on or before the first Monday of May, in each and every
year or at any convenient day thereafter that the court may
designate, to contract with the lowest bidder, in the mode
hereinafter directed, for keeping in repair the public roads
of said county, for one or more years, and the levy court
aforesaid, are hereby authorised to levy upon the assessable
property of said county, such sum or suras of money as
may be necessary to defray the expenses incurred by vir-
tue of this act and cause the same to be collected as other
county charges are now collected.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the clerk of the levy court of the said county, when requi-
red by said court to advertise in the newspaper published
in said county, and also to give notice in writing at not less
then three of the most public places in each election dis-
trict of said county, at least three weeks before the day
designated for the purpose, that the repairs of the different
sections of the public roads as are now laid off, to the sev-
eral supervisors of said county, will be offered to the lowest
bidder or bidders, at Upper Marlboro', on such day as the

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That when the repairs of any
portion or section of said roads shall be put out on contract,
the person or persons so contracting, shall give bond with
security, to be approved by the said levy court, under such
penalty as may be prescribed by said court for the faithful
