CHAP. 203.

ground, in Quantico, in Somerset county, and that Eleanor
Bounds, widow of John Bounds, and mother of said infant
children, is desirous of selling said lot of ground for the
better support of the children. Therefore,

May sell.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Eleanor Bounds, widow of the said John
Bounds, and mother of said infant children, be and she is
authorised and empowered to sell and convey, under the
the direction of the Orphan's Court, said lot of ground, upon
such terms as the said court may prescribe, having regard
to the interest of the said infant children.

ding to scale.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said Orphan's Court
may, and they are hereby authorised, to allow to the said
Eleanor Bounds, such proportion of the said purchase
money in lieu of her dower, as is now allowed by the
scale used by Somerset County Court in Chancery cases.

An act to open a road through Howard District and Carroll
County.

Section 1 Be it enacted by the General Assembly
Maryland, That William Yohn and Jonathan Dorsey of Car-
roll county, and Ephraim Hobbs of Howard District, be and
they are hereby appointed commissioners to lay out and
open a road, not exceeding twenty feet in width and over
the most advantageous route from the Lisbon and Wood-
bine road, near the ford over the Patapsco Falls, in Howard
District, passing up Gillis's Falls, so far as said commis-
sioners may deem expedient, and upon the north side there-
of, to the lands of Christopher Lederar, and then on the
best and most practicable route to intersect the Harrisville
road in Carroll county, at or near the stone bridge on said
road in Penns lane, and the said commissioners or a majority
of them, shall cause a plat to be made of that part of the road
in Howard District, and return the same to the clerk of the
court of Howard District, to be recorded; they shall in like
manner make out a plat of that part of said road in Carroll
county, and return the same to the clerk of said county for
record, and the said road when so opened, shall be thereafter
a public road forever, and shall be kept in repair as other
