LAWS OF MARYLAND.

1843.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That nothing in this act shall
be so construed as to authorize the said corporation to
issue any note, token, device or other evidence of debt

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That this act of incorpora-
tion shall continue for twenty years from its passage, and
that the right is hereby reserved to the legislature to alter
or annul this act at pleasure.

CHAPTER. 193.

 

An act to alter and change the names of Francis Hubbard
and Sarah Elmira Hubbard, illegitimate children of Lew-
is Willson, of Caroline county, to Francis Willson and
Sarah Elmira Willson.

Passed Feb.
28, 1844.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the names of Francis Hubbard and Sa-
rah Elmira Hubbard, illegitimate children of Lewis Will-
son, of Caroline county, be and they are hereby respec-
tively altered and changed to the names of Francis Will-
son and Sarah Elmira Willson, and it shall and may be
lawful for the said Francis Willson and Sarah Elmira
Willson, at all times hereafter to be called and known by
and hold and use the names of Francis Willson and Sa-
rah Elmira Willson, and by the said names respectively,

to sue, and be sued, in any court of law or equity.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all securities, pro-
mises, contracts, assurances, deeds and lawful acts what-
soever hereafter to be made and done by the names of
Francis Willson and Sarah Elmira Willson, shall be of
the same force and effect, and equally avail to all intents
and purposes as if the names of Francis Willson and Sa-
rah Elmira Willson, had been the original and proper
names of the said Francis Hubbard and Sarah Elmira
Hubbard.

CHAPTER 194.

 

An act to authorize Peyton R. Johnson, of Baltimore coun-
ty, to bring into this State certain Negroes therein na-
med,

Passed Feb.
28, 1844.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall and
