A supplement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the
trustees of Bladensburg Academy, and for other pur-
poses, passed in eighteen hundred and sixteen, chapter
one hundred and eighty-five.

Preamble.
|
Whereas the trustees of Bladensburg Academy have
represented that it will be for the interest of said academy
to dispose of a portion of the lot belonging to said academy;
and whereas they are doubtful whether they have such
power without further legislation. Therefore,

sell.
|
Be it enacted by Ike General Assembly of Maryland,
That the trustees of Bladensburg Academy in Prince
George's county, be and they are hereby authorised and
empowered to sell and dispose of and convey to the pur-
chaser or purchasers thereof, so much of said lot as they
may deem advantageous to the interest of said academy.

An act for the relief of George W. Arnold of the city of
Baltimore.
|
May bring
slave into this
state.
Proviso.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall be lawful for George W. Arnold of the city
of Baltimore, to bring into this State, a negro man Richard,
a slave for life, and retain him therein, provided, the said
George W. Arnold shall comply with the provisions of
the act of assembly, passed December session eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-nine, chapter fifteen.

An act for the relief of Wilson C. Swann.
|
Authorised to
bring slaves
into this state.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That it shall and may be lawful for Wilson C. Swann, to
bring into the state of Maryland, his negro slaves Billy,
Charles, Harriet, Maria, Sinnice, Sethe, and Jim, and to
work them, either in Virginia or Maryland, and to remove
them or any of them, from one to the other of said states at
