LAWS OF MARYLAND.

1843.

Sec. 21. And be in enacted, That the said president
and managers of the said turnpike, for the time being, shall
and may, and they are hereby authorised and empowered,
to grant, demise and farmlet, to any person or persons with
whom they can agree, the tolls and duties which they by
virtue of this act or their own by-laws, are authorised to
demand and receive, for passage in, upon and along the said
road, at any such gate or turnpike, over or upon the same,
or any part of the same, for any term not exceeding seven
years, under such rents, reservations and conditions, as the
said president and managers at any meeting of their board
shall agree upon, which grants and demises shall have the
constructions, force and effect as other like grants and de-
mises may, between private persons, have and receive.

Sec. 22. And be it enacted, That the said Liberty road,
shall continue to be a county road, and the county commis-
sioners shall levy money to keep it in repair until one toll
gate shall be erected thereon

An act to authorize the tale and conveyance of certain pro-
perty therein mentioned.

Passed Feb.
27, 1844.

Whereas it has been represented to this general as-
sembly, that Margaret E. Maynadier, of Harford county,
is a person of non-sane mind and totally incapable of act-
ing for herself; And Whereas said idiot has been such
from infancy, and is now above the age of twenty one
years, and has no committee or guardian authorised to sell
or convey any property belonging to her the said idiot; And
Whereas by the death of a certain Gustavus A. Brown,
late of the State of Kentucky, the said Margaret E. May-
nadier, in common with others, has become entitled to
certain real and personal estate; And Whereas it would
be for the advantage as well of the said Margaret, as of
the other heirs of the said Brown, to make sale of the said
estate—Therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That William M. Maynadier of Harford coun-
ty, be, and he is hereby authorised to sell the interest of
his daughter Margaret E. Maynadier, in the estate of which
a certain Gustavus A. Brown of the State of Kentucky
died, seized or possessed, and to make a good and valid
