CHAPTER 146.

An act to reduce the per diem of the Judges and Clerks of
Election in Frederick, Carroll, Montgomery, Harford,
and Queen Ann's counties.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the judges
and clerks of elections in Frederick, Cecil, Caroline, Car-
roll, Montgomery, and Harford counties, shall each of
them be allowed for every election at which they respec-
tively attend and act as judges or clerks as aforesaid, and
for making the returns of the said elections, the sum of
three dollars per day, and no more, to be levied and paid,
as other county charges; any law to the contrary notwith-
standing.

An act for the regulation of the village of Piscataway.
|

21, 1844.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the free white male citizens of the Vil-
lage of Piscataway, in Prince George's county, qualified
to vote for members of the house of delegates, be, and
they are hereby authorized and required to meet in
said village on the first Monday of May next, and annu-
ally thereafter on the same day, and to elect three of said
citizens commissioners of said village.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That John W. Ward, Wil-
liam G. Handy and Richard J. Edelin, or any two of
them, shall be authorized to hold the first election.
