Act of 1841,
to apply to the
inspection of
White Oak
staves, &c.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the provisions of the act passed at December session
eighteen hundred and forty-one, chapter one hundred and
ninety, entitled, An act to regulate the inspection of red oak
staves and headings in this State, shall in all cases, apply to
the inspection of white oak staves and headings in this Sate.

A supplement to an act entitled, An act to provide for the
poor of Dorchester county, passed December session eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and fif-
ty-six.
|
Preamble.
|
WHEREAS according to the eighth section of an act en-
titled, An act to authorize the trustees of the poor of Dor-
chester county to purchase a farm for the use of the poor,
and to sell the present Alms-House of said county, and for
other purposes, passed at December session eighteen hun-
dred and thirty-one, chapter two hundred and fifty-six, it
is provided that the amount to he paid out-pensioners shall
not exceed one thousand dollars; and whereas the trustees
of the poor for said county have represented to this Gene-
ral Assembly that seven hundred dollars is a sufficient
amount to be appropriated by said county for the benefit of

out-pensioners — therefore,
SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act the
trustees of the poor for Dorchester county, or a majority of
them, be, and they are hereby authorized and empowered
to have and keep any number of out-pensioners, that they

may think proper, provided the amount paid said out-pen-
sioners, shall not exceed the sum of seven hundred dollars
