RESOLUTIONS.

 

provided however, that said property, pieces or parcels of
land shall be first offered for sale by public auction, from
time to time, at the pleasure of the said company, after
giving at least three week's public notice of the time, place
and terms of sale; and all such parts or parcels of said
lands as may not be in such manner disposed of may be sold
at private sale; provided, that said canal company shall not
be authorized to sell water rights or rights for manufacto-
ries by virtue of this resolution.
And be it resolved, That the sales made by said compa-
ny of certain lots and warehouses in the District of Colum-
bia, on the sixth day of August last, and the conveyances
executed, or which may hereafter be executed, be and the
same are hereby ratified and confirmed, and the same shall
be held good and sufficient to convey to the purchasers all
right and title in law and equity of the State of Maryland,
of, in and to the same and every part and parcel thereof.

Resolution in favor of the widow of Lawrence Simpson.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Treasurer of the Western Shore of Maryland is hereby
authorized and required to pay to Peter W. Crain, or order,
for the widow of Lawrence Simpson, the balance due said
Lawrence Simpson, a revolutionary pensioner, at the time
of his death.

Resolution in favor of Captain Samuel Whittington, of Cal-
vert county.

WHEREAS at the last session of the legislature a resolu-
tion was passed authorizing the Adjutant General to deliver
to Captain Samuel Whittington, of Calvert county, thirty-
five rifles with their necessary accoutrements, upon his
bonding for their safe keeping and return whenever required
to do so; and whereas the company under the command of
the said Whittington consists of forty members — therefore,
