RESOLUTIONS.

1842

Resolved, by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Adjutant General be and is hereby authorized, to deli-
ver to Capt. Samuel Whittington, of Calvert county, the
additional number of five rides, with their necessary ac-
coutrements, provided they are in the Armory, upon the
said Whittington's giving a sufficient bond for their Hale
keeping and return whenever required to do so.

 

No. 26.
Resolution in relation to the estate of Col. A. Jessup.

WHEREAS it has been represented to this General As-
sembly by the petition of many tax payers and others resi-
dents of Baltimore county, that a judgment has been obtain-
ed against Abraham Jessup as the security of Samuel Jor-
dan formerly a collector of taxes for Baltimore county; it
is further represented that the said Abraham Jessup is now
deceased and has left an infant daughter about seven years
old, who will be left entirely destitute if the said judgment
is enforced and the petitioners pray that the said judgment
be released — therefore,
Be it resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That all the right claim and interest of Baltimore county in
and to said judgment against the said Abraham Jessup be
and the same is hereby released.

No. 27.
Resolution in favor of the Penitentiary.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the treasurer of the western shore, be authorised and direct-
ed to pay to the Directors of the Maryland Penitentiary
the sum of fifteen thousand dollars out of any unappropria-
ted money in the treasury in such sums and at such times
as the wants of said penitentiary may require.
And be it further resolved, That upon the passage of
these resolutions said directors shall make a detailed state-
ment to the treasurer of the western shore, of the sums ne-
cessary to meet the wants of said penitentiary and at what
dates the payment requisite shall become due.
