sembly will be of no avail unless the States of Pennsylva-
nia and Virginia, through whose territory said road passes,
unite and co-operate in carrying out its provisions by pass-
ing similar laws,
Be it therefore resolved by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That their Excellencies the Governors of said
States of Pennsylvania and Virginia, be respectfully re-
quested to bring the subject to the notice of their respective
legislatures.
And be it further resolved, That his Excellency the Gov-
ernor of Maryland, be requested to transmit copies of the
aforegoing preamble and resolution to their Excellencies the
Governors of Pennsylvania and Virginia.

Resolution in favor of John McCollum, Captain of the
Westminster Guards.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Adjutant General be and he is directed to furnish to the
order of John McCollum, Captain of the Westminster
Guards, and to the Captain of the Carroll Infantry each,
forty-five knapsacks, the said John McCollum, Captain of
the Westminster Guards, and the said Captain of the Car-
roll Infantry first giving satisfactory security for their safe
keeping and return, provided they are in the Armory,

Resolution relative to the Tobacco Warehouse No. 2, in
the city of Baltimore.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
Joseph S. Wilson, inspector of Tobacco Warehouse No.
2, in the city of Baltimore, be and is hereby authorized, to
contract for raising the floor of said warehouse, and the
wharf before the same, so as to make the said house safe
for the reception of tobacco.
Resolved, That the Treasurer of the Western Shore be
and he is hereby directed, to pay out of any money to the
credit of the tobacco inspection fund unappropriated to the
