CHAP. 277.

Not capable to
receive depo-
sites.

defend and be defended, in all and any courts of law or
equity or any other place whatsoever.
SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That the said institution shall
not be capable of receiving from any person or persons, any
deposite or deposites of money after the passage of this act.

Corporation

laws.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said corporation shall
have power to pass all bye-laws, rules and regulations that
may be necessary to carry into effect the intentions of this
act.

Powers con-
ferred for no
other purpose
whatsoever.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the powers conferred by
this act are granted to the said Franklin Savings Institution,
for the purpose of enabling the said institution, to settle up
its affairs and for no other purpose whatsoever.

 

CHAPTER 276.

Passed March
10, 1843.

An act to amend the constitution of the State of Maryland
by taking from the Legislature the power of pledging the
credit of the State in aid of works of internal improve-
ment by any future issue of State bonds.

works of in-
ternal im-
provement.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the confirmation of this act by the next
General Assembly, it shall not be lawful for the legislature
of this State to aid in the making of any rail roads, canals
or other works of internal improvement by the passage of
any law or resolution authorizing any loan or the issue of
any bonds or other evidences of debt for the resumption of
which this State may be or become in any manner respon-
sible.

 

CHAPTER 277.

10, 1843.

An act to repeal an act entitled, An act supplemental to an
act entitled, A supplement to an act entitled, An act to pro-
vide for the inspection of Plaster of Paris in the City of
Baltimore, passed at December session eighteen hundred
and forty-one, chapter one hundred and two.

Repealed.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act entitled, an act supplemental to an act entitled,
