CHAP. 266.

not hereafter be expended for the education of children as
contemplated by the several acts of assembly on that sub-
ject, shall be secured by mortgage on real estate, the as-
sessment of which shall be at least treble the amount of the

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the Orphan's Court of
Cecil county, shall at their regular meeting in the month of
August, or in case no meeting is held in that month, then at.
their next meeting thereafter, divide whatever funds may
be in their hands, other than those invested in private secu-
rities, or state stocks, among the different districts in the
following proportionary: to the first district one-ninth of
such funds; to the second district-one tenth; to the third one
sixth; to the. fourth district one-ninth; to the fifth district
one sixth; to the sixth district one-sixth; to the seventh dis-
trict one-sixth; it being the intention of the above distribu-
tion to conform as nearly as possible to the respective po-
pulation of the different districts.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That the Orphan's Court of
Cecil county shall in all cases where the portion allotted to
any district under the first section of this act, shall not be
absorbed by the tuition of poor children for that district,
direct the application of such balance to the erection or re-
pair of school-houses in such district, and the said court
shall appoint for the superintendance of such buildings or
repairs one or more persons residing in such district, who
shall be allowed such reasonable compensation therefor as
the Orphan's Court may deem proper.

 

CHAPTER 266.

An act to provide for a Court in Allegany County for the
transaction of business on the equity side of the Court in
said County, and for other purposes.

Special court.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That it shall be and it is hereby made the duty of
the honorable the associate judges of the filth judicial district
of the State, or any one of them, to hold special court, com-
mencing on the first Monday of June in each and every
year, from and after the passage of this act, at the usual
place of holding the county court in the county of Allegany
for the especial purpose of hearing and determining all such
matters and things as may be brought before them the said
judges, on the equity side of said court.
