SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That so much of the original
law as obliged the Magistrates to make a return of their
attendance and fees to the justices of the levy courts, be
and the same is hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 264.

 

An act to authorize John Spear, late Collector of the Second
Collection District of Anne Arundel county, further time
to complete his collections.

Passed March
10, 1843.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Spear, late collector of the second
collection district of Anne Arundel county, be and he is
hereby authorized and empowered to collect all taxes or
balances of taxes, that remain unpaid and uncollected by
him in the district aforesaid, in the same manner as he
could or might have done within the time limited by law;

Time allowed.

provided, that before he proceeds to collect the taxes or
balance of taxes, he shall make out a fair account thereof,
with an affidavit annexed thereto, taken before some jus-
tice of the peace for Anne Arundel county, that they are
due and uncollected by him, and that he lias not received,
or any person for him, any part of said taxes or satisfaction
for the same, except the credits given.

Proviso.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall not re-
main in force longer than one year from the passage thereof.

In force one
year.

CHAPTER 265.

 

An act to amend the act of December session eighteen hun-
dred and forty, chapter two hundred and twenty-three.

Passed Match
7, 1843.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the first and second sections of the act of
the general assembly, passed at December session eighteen
hundred and forty, chapter two hundred and twenty-three,
entitled, An act relating to the school fund of Cecil county,
be and the same are hereby repealed.

Repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That all school funds in the
hands or management of the Orphan's Court invested or to
be invested in private securities, which has not been or may
