An act authorising Commissioners to establish a Public
Road in Prince George's County.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Doctor Hanson Penn, John Bowie and
William Beckett, of Prince George's County, are hereby
appointed Commissioners, any two or more of whom shall
have power to enter upon, survey, lay off and locate, a road
from some convenient and proper point on the main road
leading from Bladensburg to Montgomery, through the
lands of Thomas Burch, Washington Lews, and the late
John S. Dodson to intersect the north eastern Boundary
line of the District of Columbia at the most convenient and
suitable point on said District line, and in locating said
road they shall in their discretion, take the most and suit-
able and practicable route, said road not to exceed thirty
feet in width.

SEC. 2. And be enacted, That the said Commissioners
or any two or more of them, shall have power to value and
condemn the lands over which they may locate said road,
and to cause the same to be surveyed and a plat thereof,
and the valuation and condemnation of the lands as afore-
said, and the expenses attending the execution of this act
to be returned to the Levy Court of Prince George's
County, and any person conceiving themselves aggrieved
by the proceedings and return of the commissioners may
object to the ratification thereof before the said Levy
Court, and when ratified and confirmed by the said court, it
shall be filed and recorded among the public records of the
county.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Levy Court shall
after ratification, levy a sum or sums of money not exceed-
ing in amount one hundred and twenty dollars, to defray
all said expenses and to pay to the owners of the lands the
amount awarded to them respectively by the said Commis-
sioners, and from and after the said levy, the road that
may be located as aforesaid, shall be deemed and taken as
a public road and kept in repair at the expense of the
County.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That should it be found ne-
cessary to erect a bridge or bridges in the construction 01
