SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That if the parties contract-
ing for the erection or construction of any building, shall
otherwise contract in writing, then said law as to such par-
ties and such contract, shall be inoperative and no effect.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the Commissioners of Anne Arundel county, to direct a
copy of said original act and this supplement to be printed
in such newspapers as they may direct, the expense of
which shall be defrayed by said county, and for such time
as they may think necessary.

SEC. 4. And be it enacted, That as soon as practicable
after the passage of this act, it shall be the duty of the clerks
of the Senate and House of Delegates, to transmit a certifi-
ed copy of the same, to the commissioners of said county.

CHAPTER 148.

 

A supplement to the act passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and forty, chapter -fifty-two, entitled, An act to de-
fine the time within which the official bonds of Clerks and
Registers, shall be renewed.

Passed Feb.
28, 1843.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the several county Clerks and Registers
of Wills, who have renewed their official bonds before the
first day of January, eighteen hundred and forty three, be
and they hereby released from the penalties imposed by law,
for not filing their said bonds within the time limited by law.

SEC. 2.. And be it entitled, That all prosecutions pend-
ing in any of the courts of this state against any clerk, or re-
gister, for not renewing his official bond within the time
limited by law, shall be discontinued, provided the party
against whom said prosecution is pending, has filed his
bond before the first of January, eighteen hundred and
forty-three, and the Attorney General or his Deputy as
the case may be, is hereby directed to enter a nolle prosequi
in all such cases.
