1841.

Baltimore, or within five miles thereof, which have not been
weighed according to law, he shall be subject to the same
penalties anil forfeitures as are provided against the seller
of said cattle or hogs, by the tenth section of the act to which

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That after the expiration of
the present year, the annual compensation of the weigh mas-
ter, shall be eight hundred dollars.

inconsistent with the provisions of this act, shall be, and the
same are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 120.

 

A supplement to the act passed December session, eighteen
hundred and twenty-Jive, chapter one hundred and fifty
seven.

Whereas, it is represented to the General Assembly, by
the petition of Philemon Chew, register of wills of Prince
George's county, and many property holders of said county,
that since the year eighteen hundred and thirty, the said re-
gister has performed certain services imposed on him by
the act of December session, eighteen hundred and twenty-
five, chapter one hundred and fifty-seven, without any com-
pensation, and have recommended that he be paid for said
services out of the school fund of said county, and also for
such services as he may render hereafter in virtue of said
act—therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General. Assembly of
Maryland, That the orphans court of Prince George's coun-
ty, be and they are hereby authorized and directed to pay
out of the school fund of said county, to Philemon Chew,
register of wills of said county, nine hundred dollars, in full
compensation for all services performed by him under the
said act.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That, the register of wills of
said county, shall be hereafter entitled to, and the said or-
phans court are hereby directed to pay out of said fund, an
annual allowance of seventy-five dollars, for services to be
rendered under said act.
