CHAP. 102.

Levy court to
designate the
manner of
paying taxes,
etc.

Collectors
to be charge-
able with in-
terest after six
months

the existing laws, all the taxes that may be collectable by
them respectively, and taxes that may be payable by any
person owning land or other property in both of the said
districts, shall be collectable by the collector of the district
where said person may reside, and taxes against any person
who may not reside in the county shall be collectable by the
collector of the district where his property, or the major
part thereof in value, may lie.
Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the said levy court shall
designate the manner of paying the said taxes, and the order
and certificate that they may issue, shall specify the collec-
tor by whom the same are to be paid, and the bonds of said
collectors may be put in suit for the use of any person or per-
sons on whose favor said order or certificate may be drawn,
or of their assignees for valuable consideration.
Sec 5. And be it enacted, That the said collectors and
their sureties shall respectively be chargeable with interest
on the amount in their hands for collection, after six months
from the date of the county levy.

 

CHAPTER 102.

An art supplemental to an act entitled, a supplement to an
act entitled, an act to provide for the inspection of Plais-
ter Paris, in the City of Baltimore, passed at December
session, eighteen hundred and thirty-three, chapter two
hundred arid seventy-Jive.

terly returns.

Inconsistent
acts repeated.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the
inspector of ground Plaister Paris in the city of Baltimore,
shall make quarterly returns on oath, on the first days of the
months March, June, September and December of each
year, to the treasurer of the western shore, and shall in the
said returns thus ordered to be made, slate what number of
barrels and casks of Plaister Paris have been inspected by
him during the quarter of the year past; and the said in-
spector shall he, and he is hereby directed and ordered, that
at the time of making his quarterly return, he shall pay over
to the treasurer of the western shore, one half of the amount
of fees, or charges received by, and now allowed him by
law, for the inspection of Plaister Paris.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That all acts or parts of acts
inconsistent with the provisions of this act, shall be, and the
same are hereby repealed.
