CHAPTER 64.

An act for the relief of the securities of Israel Mayberry,
late Collector of Taxes of Allegany County.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John J. Hoffman, Nicholas P. Ryen, and
the executors of Andrew Bruce, deceased, securities of
Israel Mayberry, late collector of Allegany county, for the
year eighteen hundred and thirty-eight, be and they are
hereby authorised and empowered to collect any and all
taxes now remaining due and uncollected by said Mayberry
in the county aforesaid, in the same manner and with the
same privileges and powers, as are allowed by the existing
laws in such cases made and provided.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall not conti-
nue in force longer than two years from the first, day of Ju-
ly next.

CHAPTER 65.
|

An act to authorize John R. Baden, present Sheriff of
Prince George's County, to bond as Sheriff of said coun-
ty, at any time before the tenth day of February next, and
to authorize the Clerk of said county to receive and re-
cord said bond.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John R. Baden, the present sheriff of Prince
George's county, bo and He is hereby authorized to bond as
sheriff of said county at any time before the tenth day of

February next; provided, the said bond shall be approved
and attested according to law, and provided, that in addition
to the condition of sheriffs bond prescribed by the existing
laws of this State, the bond to be given in virtue of this act,
shall contain the following condition to wit: the further con-
dition of this obligation is such, that the above obligation
shall not be null and void, unless the above bond John R.
Baden, shall in all respects, well and faithfully perform all
the duties prescribed in the preceding condition to this obli-
gation, and by the existing laws of this State, in all cases of
process, which may have come to His hands between the ex-
piration of his bond as sheriff for the last year, and the date
of this obligation, as fully and completely as if this obliga-
tion bore date anterior to his reception of such process, or
his receipt of money under color of his office of sheriff.
