expenditures.

in case of their failure to make such publication.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the said statement shall
enumerate the respective sums collected in each election
district, and the several sources from which said receipts
are derived; and also shall designate the various sums dis-
bursed, in each election district, and the purposes to which
the same shall have been appropriated, stating with refer-
ence to the following heads of expenditures or allowances,
the aggregate amount of each one of them separately, to
wit: the pay of each of the members of the levy court; the
pay of each of the commissioners of the tax of the county;
the pay of the clerk, attorney and any other person or per-
sons in their service; fees paid for legal service and advice;
fees and allowances to public officers, distinguishing those
to each class of officers separately; the holding of the courts
and all charges coming under that head; specifying how
much thereof on account of jurors, and also how much on
account of witnesses payable by. the county; the support of
the prison, and all charges connected therewith or relating
to prisoners; the support of the alms house and its inmates,
with a statement of how much allowed to its officers, and
how much for the pay of the trustees; allowance to indigent
out pensioners; the holding of elections; repairs and erections
of public buildings, showing separately the sum expended
on each one; repairs of old and erection of new bridges, de-
signating how much on account of each of them; repairs of
the public roads, the opening of new roads, designating the
several sums allowed to individuals for lands over which
roads shall have been laid out, with such other items as the
said levy court may judge will have a tendency to convey
general information concerning the various transactions of
the year.
Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the trustees of the alms
house shall furnish the levy court of the county, with a ge-
neral statement of all the disbursements and expenditures
of said institution, so as to enable the levy court to give a
full statement of its receipts and expenditures, at the time
specified in this act.

Mayor to
publish state-
ment.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the mayor of Frederick
shall annually in the month of January, publish in the sev-
eral newspapers of Frederick, a full and particular state-
ment of all receipts and disbursements, the salaries and per
diem of all officers of the corporation, and all extra allow-
ances that may have been allowed to any officer of the cor-
poration, and the services or consideration for such extra
allowances.
