CHAPTER 25.

CHAP. 26.

An act for the benefit of the Crier of Kent County Court.

Passed Jan
20, 1842.

Section 1. Beit enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That the levy court of Kent county, be and they
are hereby authorized and required, at the time of making
the annual county levy, to levy and assess for the use of the
crier of Kent county court the sum of one hundred and fifty
dollars, to be collected and paid over as other county
charges.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the sum so levied for the
use of the said crier, shall be in full for all fees arising in
criminal cases, and the said crier shall be required to attend
all sittings of the county courts and levy courts of said
county.

CHAPTER 26.

 

An act to incorporate the Society of the Redemptorists of
the City of Baltimore.

20, 1842.

Whereas, the Reverend Alexander Czvilkovicz, the
Reverend Simon Senderl, the Reverend Tscharkert and the
Reverend Louis Karteyvebs, by their petition to this Gene-
ral Assembly, have set forth that they have emigrated to
and settled in the city of Baltimore, in this State, and that
each of them hath already declared his intention to become
a citizen of the United States, before a court of competent
jurisdiction; that they have formed themselves into a society
by the name of the Redemptorists, for religious, literary
and charitable purposes, and have purchased in fee simple,
a lot of ground on the east side of Aisquith street, in the
city of Baltimore, near Saint James' church, upon which
they propose to erect suitable buildings for the residence of
themselves and their assistants, and for a school; and that
they propose, when their means will permit, to extend their
society by similar improvements in some other part of the
city or State, and to apply their means, so far as may be
possible, to gratuitous education; and they have prayed an
act of incorporation for the more convenient holding and
transmission of their property, which being reasonable,
and in accordance with the previous policy of this State, —
therefore,

Preamble.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said Alexander Czvilkovicz, Simon

Incorporated.
