cases, and may call on and compel said guardian, to ac-
count and have, and exercise the same powers over said
guardianship, as if the said guardian had been originally
appointed by them, and it is hereby further enacted, that a
copy of said bond, distribution or receipt under the seal of
the register of wills of Kent county, shall be evidence
as if the same was made by the register of wills of Kent

county, provided however, that all fees accrued, or becoming
due to the register of wills of Kent county, in the execution
of this act, shall be paid by said guardian before he is re-

quired to transmit said bond, and other proceedings.
Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That as soon as the orphans
court of Kent county, are satisfied by a certificate of the
register of wills of Somerset county, that a copy of said
bond, and other papers have been received by him and re-
corded as aforesaid, shall cease to have further jurisdiction
of said guardianship.

CHAPTER 214.

An act to alter and amend the Constitution and Form of
Government of the State of Maryland, so as to substi-
tute biennial for annual sessions of the Legislature, and
for other purposes.

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the first election held in pursuance of this
act, shall take place on the first Wednesday of October, in
the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty-four, and
on that day forever thereafter elections shall be held
once in two years.

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the delegates elected
on the first Wednesday of October, eighteen hundred and
forty-four, and at all succeeding elections forever thereaf-
ter, shall be chosen for two years.

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That the General Assembly
shall meet on the last Monday in December, eighteen hun-
dred and forty-four, and on the same day in every second
year forever thereafter, and at no other time unless conven-
ed by proclamation of the governor.

Sec. 4. And be it enacted, That the term of office of
the governor elected on the first Wednesday of October,
eighteen hundred and forty-four, shall commence on the
first Monday of January next ensuing the day of such elec-
tion and continue for four years and until the election and
qualification of a successor.
