FRANCIS THOMAS, ESQUIRE, GOVERNOR.

1841.

missioners of Howard district of Anne Arundel county,
shall receive a bond by them approved, conditioned for the
making, laying out and establishing such alteration in the
road in said district leading to said Snell's bridge, as may
be necessary upon a change of the location of said bridge
as is contemplated by this act, to connect said road with
said bridge, free and clear of all expense to said Howard
district, and it shall be the duty of said commissioners of
Howard district, upon receiving and accepting said bond,
to advise the commissioners of Montgomery county, and
the commissioners upon the part of said district for re-build-
ing said bridge of the same, and the said commissioners of
Montgomery county shall advise the commissioners upon
the part of said county for re-building said bridge, of the
same.

CHAP. 205.

Sec. 8. And be it enacted, That when said road shall
be opened as aforesaid, it shall thereafter be considered a
county road, and kept in repair as other public roads.

CHAPTER 204.

 

An act for the benefit of Edward Plater, of Saint Mary^s
County.

Passed March
4, 1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Saint Mary's county,
be and they are hereby authorized to audit the claim of Ed-
ward Plater, For the loss of his negro slave Perry, and to
allow him such sum, to be levied upon the county, For the
loss of said slave, as they in their estimation determine he
may be worth; provided, that in their judgment, compensa-
tion for such loss should be properly awarded by Saint Ma-
ry's county.

An act to make valid the acts of William D. Voshell, as
Justice of the Peace for Caroline County.

4, 1842.

Whereas, William D. Voshell was regularly appointed
a justice of the pence for Caroline county, for the year
eighteen hundred and forty-one, and qualified as such, but
was subsequently appointed postmaster for Bridgetown, in
