of the said act of incorporation, be and the same are hereby

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That in the latter part of the
nineteenth section of the original act to which this is a sup-
plement, after the proviso therein contained, twenty-five dol-
lars be substituted instead of five dollars, so that hereafter
no scrip shall be issued for a less sum than twenty-five dol-
lars, but amounts less than twenty-five dollars, shall be trans-
ferable on the books of the company, by the person entitled

Sec. 3. And be it enacted, That if by reason of the pres-
sure of the times, or from any other cause, the said insur-
ance company should not go into active operation in the
present year, the corporators named in the original act of
incorporation or the survivors of them, or the majority of
such survivors, shall have power to keep such charter in
existence, by electing on the first Monday in September
next, or within twenty days thereafter, a new board of direc-
tors, who shall have full power to act as such for one year,
and until another board shall be chosen in their place, and
such corporators and their survivors, or a majority of them,
may continue annually to elect a board of directors with full
powers as aforesaid, until the company shall have gone into
active operation, and have chosen a Board of Directors, ac-
cording to the provisions of the act of incorporation.

An act for the benefit of the Trustees of School District
number one, in the second Election District of Charles
County.

1, 1842.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the trustees of school district number one, in the se-
cond election district of Charles county, be and they are
hereby required to report to the orphans court of said coun-
ty, the length of time a teacher was by them employed, and
acted as such, in the said school district, in the year eighteen
hundred and forty-one, and the sum due said teacher for said
service, and the justices of the said orphans court, after the
making of the said report, are hereby authorized and re-
quired to draw in favor of the trustees of said school district,
upon the Farmers Bank of Maryland, or the collector of the
county levy of said county, for the sum due said teacher, to
