CHAPTER 169.

An act to provide for the appointment of an additional In-
spector of Sole Leather and Rough Harness and Rough
Skirting Leather, in the City of Baltimore.

be appointed

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the Governor be and he is hereby empow-
ered, by and with the advice and consent of the senate, to
appoint an inspector of sole leather and rough harness and
lough skirting leather in the city of Baltimore, in addition to
the two inspectors already appointed by law.

How govern-
ed

Sec. 2. And be it enacted, That the additional inspector
hereby created, shall be governed in the discharge of his du-
ties, by the provisions of the act entitled, an act For the in-
spection of sole leather and rough harness and rough skirt-
ing leather, in the city of Baltimore, passed at December-
session eighteen hundred and thirty-one.

 

CHAPTER 170.

1, 1842.

A supplement to an act entitled, an act to incorporate the
Atlantic Mutual Insurance Company of Baltimore, passed
at December session, eighteen hundred and forty, chapter
eighty-two.

Preamble

Whereas, doubts have arisen as to the proper mode of
electing the first board of directors of the Atlantic Mutual
Insurance Company of Baltimore, under the act incorporat-
ing said company, passed as aforesaid; and whereas, the per-
sons hereinafter named were on the twenty-fifth day of Sep-
tember, eighteen hundred and forty-one, elected to serve as
the first board of directors, by the corporators named in the
original act, to which this is a supplement, or by a majority
of them; and whereas, the said corporators have applied to
have such election ratified and confirmed—therefore,

Section 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the said election of James J. Fisher, Wil-
liam G. Harrison, James J. Corner, Charles R. Pearce,
Cushing Stetson, John G. Bathurst, James Hooper, Thomas
P. Williams, David Wilson, Daniel Chase, Henry Pike and
William Hooper, as directors of the Atlantic Mutual In-
surance Company, be and the same is hereby confirmed,
and the said persons are hereby constituted the first Board
of Directors of said company, to serve until the next annual
meeting, and until others are chosen in their stead, and that
