said notice, which notice shall be given by advertisement
in at least two of the daily newspapers printed in the city
of Baltimore, twice a week in each of said newspapers,
for three successive weeks before the said limited day.

CHAPTER 60.

CHAP. 61.

An act to authorise Aquilla Napoleon Howard Meeks to
take and use the name of Howard Meeks.

Passed Feb. 11,
1841.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, it shall and
may be lawful for Aquilla Napoleon Howard Meeks, of
Kent county, to take and use in lieu of his said name,

Name changed.

Aquilla Napoleon Howard Meeks; and all acts done or to
be done by him in said last mentioned name, shall be valid
to all intents and purposes; and in the same he may con-
tract, sue and be sued, and do all acts not contrary to the
laws of this State.

CHAPTER 61.

Acts confirmed.

A supplement to an act passed March the twentieth, eigh-
teen hundred and forty, entitled, an act to provide for
the appointing of Commissioners to assess and award
damages to sundry citizens of Carroll County.

Passed Feb. 11,
1841.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the time limited in the first section of the
act to which this is a supplement, in which the said com-
missioners therein named should be appointed, be and the
same is hereby extended to the first day of July, in the
year eighteen hundred and forty-one.

Time extended.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That so much of the said sec-
tion as makes it the duty of the said commissioners of tax
of Carroll county to appoint commissioners for the purpose

that the said appointment be left discretionary with the
said commissioners of tax of said county.
