CHAP. 53.

day of January, one thousand eight hundred and nine, and
recorded among the land records of Baltimore county court,
in Liber W. G. number one hundred, folio four hundred
and twenty-five, and so forth, to the uses and for the trusts
in said deed set forth, shall, by virtue of this act, become
and be vested in Alexander Murdoch, of the city of Balti-
more, his heirs and assigns forever, to and for the same
uses and trusts, to all intents and purposes, as are declared
in the original deed from Alexander Nisbet and Mary his
wife, above referred to.

CHAPTER 53.

1841.

An act to allow John Newcomer, late Sheriff and Collector
of Washington County, further time to complete his
Collections.

Time extended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That John Newcomer, late sheriff and collec-
tor of Washington county, by himself, or any person or
persons by him appointed for this purpose, is and are here-
by authorised and empowered to collect, until the last day
of December, eighteen hundred and forty-two, all sums
and balances due him as sheriff and collector of Washing-
ton county, in the same manner which the said John New-
comer could or might have done within the time limited by
law, any thing to the contrary notwithstanding.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That it shall be the duty of
the said John Newcomer, before he proceeds to execute
or distrain the property of any person or persons, for taxes,
public dues or officers fees, in virtue of this act, to deliver
to such person or persons chargeable with the same, at least
thirty days previous to the levying such execution or dis-
tress, an account, written in words in full length, of the
taxes, public dues or officers fees demanded of him, her or

them, with an affidavit annexed thereto, that he hath not
received any part thereof, nor any thing in security or sa-
tisfaction for the same, more than the. credits given, to the
