1841.

of Maryland; and whereas, the said John Lewellin has be-
come the holder of real property in the State, but cannot
exercise a legal control or disposition of the same, because
he is not a naturalized citizen of the State — therefore,

CHAP. 52.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That John Lewellin, be and he is hereby authorised and
empowered to take, hold and dispose of the real estate he
may now have an equitable or other claim to, within the
limits of the State of Maryland, or which he may hereaf-
ter acquire, in the same manner as if the said John Lewel-
lin had been a naturalized citizen of the United States at

the time when his claim to such property originated; provi-
ded, the said John Lewellin shall proceed to declare his in-
tention to become a citizen of the United States, within
flic period of twelve months after the passage of this act.

CHAPTER 52.

Proviso.

An act for the relief of Alexander Nisbet, and Mary his
wife.

WHEREAS, by a deed dated on or about the thirty-first
January, eighteen hundred and nine, and recorded in the
land records of Baltimore county, to wit: in Liber W. G.
number one hundred, folio four hundred and twenty-five,
and so forth, the said Alexander Nisbet and Mary his wife,
conveyed to Alexander Fridge, his heirs and assigns for-
ever, the real estate and property therein mentioned, in
trust and confidence for the uses and trusts in the said deed
declared; and whereas, the said Alexander Fridge has since
departed this life, without leaving any heir or heirs capa-
ble of inheriting said legal estate of inheritance, as convey-
ed in trust as aforesaid; and whereas, the said Alexander
Nisbet and Mary his wife, are without relief in the premi-
ses, and arc desirous that the legal estate so conveyed as
aforesaid, to the said Alexander Fridge, in trust as afore-
said, should become vested in fee simple in Alexander
Murdoch, his heirs and assigns, for the same uses and
trusts as arc declared in the original deed above referred
to — now, therefore,

1841.

Preamble.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the real estate heretofore conveyed by Alexander
Nisbet and Mary his wife, to the said Alexander Fridge,
his heirs and assigns, by deed, dated on the thirty-first
