RESOLUTIONS.

vided, the cost of the same do not exceed the price of fifty
cents per copy.
And be it resolved, That in the returns now required to
be made by the schools and academies of this State, to the
General Assembly, and to the Treasurer of the Western
Shore, it shall be made the additional duty of the trustees
or managers of said schools and academies, to include in
said returns, the number of volumes of said work used in
said school and academies.

Resolutions in relation to the Library.

Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Librarian be, and he is hereby authorised and required to
deliver to the Secretary of State, to be transmitted to the
several states and territories, and to the librarian of con-
gress, such surplus works now remaining; in the library,
as the joint committee on the library may direct.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian be, and he is hereby authorised and directed,
to transmit one copy of Dorsey's Laws of Maryland, to the
following public officers: the several orphans' courts, the
several county courts, the judges of the county courts, the
judges of the Baltimore city court and office, the attorney-
general, the treasurer of the Eastern and Western Shores,
the land offices of the Eastern and Western Shore, the
office of the adjutant-general, the city council of Baltimore,
the city council of Annapolis, the office of insolvent com-
missioners, the colleges in the state, and the several incor-
porated academies in the state, Howard District, the libra-
ry of congress, to each department of the general govern-
ment, the chancellor and chancery office, and the court of
Appeals for the Eastern and Western Shore, and one copy
to each member of the present Legislature.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That the
Librarian transmit to the honorable John Leeds Kerr, forty
four copies of Bozman's History of Maryland, in acknow-
ledgment of that gentleman's munificence in presenting to
the State that History in manuscript.
Resolved by the General Assembly of Maryland, That
the Librarian be, and he is hereby authorised and required,
to purchase a carpet for the library room, and to cause the
