CHAPTER 261.

An act to confirm an act, entitled an act to alter and amend
the Constitution, so far as it relates to the power of the
Legislature to grant Lotteries, passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter thirty-
one.

CHAP. 262.

Passed Mar. 10,
1841.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the act passed at December session, eighteen hundred
and thirty-nine, chapter thirty-one, entitled an act to alter
and amend the constitution, so far as relates to the power
of the Legislature to grant lotteries, be and the same is
hereby ratified and confirmed.

CHAPTER 262.

Confirmed.



A supplement to the act, entitled an act to incorporate the
Mining and Manufacturing Company of Hibernia.

Passed Mar. 10,
1841.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That the capital stock of said company may
be, and the same is hereby authorised to be extended to
one million of dollars, exclusive of five thousand acres of
land, which the said company is authorised to possess; the
capital stock of the said company to be subscribed for or
sold in shares of live hundred dollars each; and that so
much of the act to which this is a supplement, as limits the
said capital to five hundred thousand dollars, and the shares
to one hundred dollars each, be and the same is hereby
repealed.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act, and the act to
which this is a supplement, shall continue in force until the
first of January, eighteen hundred and seventy-one, and
thereafter until the same shall be repealed or modified, by
the Legislature, any thing to the contrary notwithstanding
in said act, or in the act, entitled an act prescribing general
regulations for the incorporation of manufacturing and mi-
ning companies.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the thirteenth, and four-
teenth and fifteenth sections of the said act, entitled an act
prescribing general regulations for the incorporation of ma-
nufacturing and mining companies, are hereby declared not
