CHAP. 264.

Right to vacate
charter.

to apply to the corporation created by the act to which
this is a supplement, but that the charter of the said company
shall be subject to forfeiture, and may be vacated and re-
pealed by the Legislature, if at any time the liabilities of
the corporation shall exceed the assets of the corporation.

CHAPTER 263.

Passed Mar. 10,
1841.

An act to authorise Henry P. Norris to have recorded the
name of a certain Negro brought into this State.

Name of negro
to be recorded.

Proviso.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Ma-
ryland, That it shall and may be lawful for Henry P. Nor-
ris to record in the clerk's office of Worcester county, a
negro girl named Eliza, brought into this State; provided,
he shall, within thirty days after the passage of this act re-
cord said negro, make affidavit that she is a slave for life,
and pay the clerk of said court fifteen dollars for the use of
Maryland Colonization Society.

To be valid.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That such recording, affida-
vit and payment shall be as effectual as if the same had
been done within the time prescribed by law.

CHAPTER 264.

Passed Mar. 10,
1841.

An act to alter and change the Division Lines between
Election Districts Numbers three and nine, of Wash-
ington County.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it hath been represented to this General As-
sembly that the convenience of the voters of the third and
ninth election districts of Washington county would be ma-
terially subserved by an alteration of the lines dividing said
districts — therefore,

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That from and after the passage of this act, the
following shall be the division lines between election dis-
tricts numbers three and nine, in Washington county: be-
ginning at the Pennsylvania line, where the Waynesborough
road crosses the same, and running with said road to the
Paradise School House, and from thence with the public
road to Frederick Zeigler's mill, and from thence with a
