CHAPTER 254.

An act to divorce Hannah C. Pierce, of the City of Balti-
more, from her husband Alfred Pierce.

Divorced.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Hannah C. Pierce be, and she is hereby
divorced from her husband Alfred Pierce, a vinculo matri-
monii.

To assume her
maiden name.

SEC. 2. And be. it enacted, That the said Hannah C.
Pierce shall henceforth be known and called by her maiden
name, Hannah C. Fisher.

CHAPTER 255.

Passed Mar. 10,
1841.

An act to refund to Jane Magruder, of Montgomery
County, Taxes over-paid by her.

Commissioners
to refund money
over paid.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That the commissioners of the tax for Montgomery county
refund to Jane Magruder, of said county, such sums of
money as she may make it appear to said commissioners
that she has paid for several years past over and above
what she ought in justice to have paid, according to the
amount of her property, real and personal, during said
time; and the said commissioners cause a special assess-
ment of the property of said Jane Magruder to be made,
or take such other measures as to them may seem right
to ascertain the amount that may have been over-paid.

An act for the payment of the Journal of Accounts.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, it appears by the journal of accounts of this
session, that is due from this State the sum of forty-nine
thousand three hundred and fifty-eight dollars and eighty-
four cents — therefore,

Payment autho-
rised to be made.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,

That the Treasurer of the Western Shore of Maryland
be, and he is hereby authorised and required to pay the
several persons, their executors, administrators or orders,
