1840.

SEC. 11. And be it enacted, That where the collector shall
expose to sale any tract or tracts of land, parcel or parcels,
lot or lots of land as aforesaid, for which there is no bid-
der or bidders, he shall return to the commissioners at their
next meeting thereafter, a list of such tract or tracts of land,
parcel or parcels, lot or lots of land, and the said commis-
sioners or a majority of them, shall cause a copy of said list,
together with the amount of taxes and all costs respectively
due on such lands, and the name or names of the owner or
owners thereof, to be delivered to the collector of the taxes
for the ensuing year,. who shall be authorised to sell the
same, after the same manner and according to the regu-
lations prescribed for the annual sales under this act, and
the same when sold, to transfer by deed of bargain and sale,
to the purchaser or purchasers thereof.

SEC. 12. And be it enacted, That in case of the death of
any collector, his successor shall go on and complete the
sale or other proceedings enjoined upon the collector by
this act, in the same manner as though he had commenced
the same, or no such vacancy had occurred in the office of
collector.

If collector die.

SEC. 13. And be it enacted, That the commissioners for
Allegany county aforesaid, who reside out of the town of
Cumberland, shall be allowed twelve and a half cents per
mile from, their place of residence to Cumberland, for go-
ing to any regular, stated, adjourned or other meeting of
said commissioners, and the like sum for returning from the
same; such allowance to be made only for once going and
returning to and from each meeting.

SEC. 14. And be it enacted, That an act entitled an act
for the more effectual collection, of the county charges in
Allegany county, passed at December session, eighteen
hundred and thirty-four, chapter three hundred and thirty-
four, and also an act with the same titling, passed at No-
vember session, seventeen hundred and ninety-six, chapter
eight, and the several supplements thereto, be and the same
are hereby repealed; provided, this act shall not take effect
before the first day of September next.
