CHAP. 134.

and keep upon said road such free gate or gates, as may
be necessary for the protection of their property.

CHAPTER 133.

Passed Feb. 23,
1841.

An act to authorise Perry G. Hobbs, late collector of
Howard District, in Anne Arundel County, further time
to complete his collections of County Taxes, in said
District.

Time extended.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the General Assembly of
Maryland, That Perry G. Hobbs, late collector of How-
ard district, in Anne Arundel county, be and he is hereby
authorised and empowered to collect any taxes, or balance
of taxes, now remaining due to and uncollected by him, in
the district aforesaid, in the same manner as he could or
might have done within the time limited by law.

In force 12
months.

SEC. 2. And be it enacted, That this act shall not con-
tinue in force longer than one year from the date of the
passage thereof.

Deliver an ac-
count of the
sum demanded.

SEC. 3. And be it enacted, That the said Perry G. Hobbs,
before he proceeds to execute the person or property of
any person, by the authority of this act, shall deliver or
cause to be delivered to the person or persons chargeable
with the same, and at least thirty days before he shall pro-
ceed to execute as aforesaid, a particular account of the
sum demanded of him, her or them, with an affidavit there-
to annexed, that he hath not, nor hath any person, acting
under him whilst collector as aforesaid, or since then, re-
ceived any part thereof, or satisfaction for the same, to the
best of his knowledge and belief.

CHAPTER 134.

Passed Feb. 26,
1841.

An act to authorise the Commissioners of the Tax, of An-
ne Arundel County, to pay over to the Commissioners of
the Tax, of Howard District, whatever sum or sums of
money may be due from Anne Arundel County to How-
ard District.

Preamble.

WHEREAS, before the separation of Howard district, in
Anne Arundel county, from the said county, the commis-
