CHAP. 14.
|
McPherson Alvey of St. Mary's county, be and the same
are hereby changed to John Henry Cook, Ann Maria Cook,
and James Chapman Cook, and that they shall be at all
times, and in all respects entitled to use the names of John
Henry Cook, Ann Maria Cook, and James Chapman Cook,
as if they had always been called and known by the same.

An act to change the name of Ann Maria Codling, of
Baltimore County, to that of Mary Ann Maria Lewis.

Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the name of
Ann Maria Codling, of Baltimore county, be and the same
is hereby changed to Mary Ann Maria Lewis.

An act, supplementary to an act, passed at December ses-
sion, eighteen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter one hun-
dred and thirteen.

Any school in
operation six
months, &c. to
receive $50.
|
Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Maryland,
That from and after the passage of this act, the several
boards of district commissioners of the free school fund
of Caroline county, shall have power, at their discretion,
to give to any school that may nave been in operation for
six months during the year eighteen hundred and forty, and
to any school that shall be in operation for six months in
any one year hereafter, fifty dollars annually, out of the
surplus free school fund of said county, as contemplated
by the fifth section of the act of December session, eigh-
teen hundred and thirty-nine, chapter one hundred and thir-
teen.
